一、審準題目：
文章的中心要對題目的分析來確定，一定要弄清主題的內涵，確立與文章聯系的主題思想，表達不能游離于主題，否則即使內容再精彩，也是跑題作文，得分將會大打折扣，因此，寫命題作文最重要的是先審清題目，確立要表現的中心。
二、構思結構：
就是開放思路，啟動聯想，構想表現形式，勾勒出文章的結構層次，依次寫出引言段，主題句，發展段和結尾句，努力使之新穎，別致。
三、選擇材料：
這一點很重要，一定要圍繞想表現的中心去選擇組織材料，所選的材料必須典型精要。
四、表達：
就是用最確切明了的語言貫穿材料，表達自己的'思想，力爭用符合英語語法規則。英語表達習慣，最順暢自然的詞，句，段去表達中心思想，與表現中心無關的話即使再生動形象也不要去寫。就寫作的目的表現形式來看，命題作文分為三種形式：

我今天講的就是我怎么“胡”過去的。下面我就來說說：
在前天我感覺作業特別多，有語文《習字冊》、英語背書，其中最難的.是準備明天的英語演講。我可是一點也沒想呀！
首先我得想想該做主題是什么英語演講。是什么呢？是什么呢？是什么呢？……啊！我終于想到了那就是：笑話。想到這個主題時，我立刻想到了英語報上的笑話。
我立刻翻開英語報查找起來。我查到了兩個笑話，一個是特別難的，一個特別簡單的。如果我選擇難的，明天的英語演講我就有許多單詞不會讀。如果我選擇簡單的，我怕到明天的英語演講結束時，會有很多同學瞧不起我。怎么辦？怎么辦？怎么辦？……我有陷入沉思。最后，經過我再三考慮，我選擇簡單的。因為不會總比會的好，難道不是嗎？所以我以經做好被嘲笑的準備了。
新的一天開始了！
這節英語課我想來的晚一些，沒想到第三節英語課這么快就到了！幸好這節英語演講沒有我想的那么糟糕。我也還加了5分（雖然是倒數第一的加分）。
