　　Great Changes in My Hometown I used to live in a small town with trees all around. There was no tall building and the only street was narrow.

　　Just outside the town， there was a river.

　　You can see different kinds of fish swimming in the clear water.

　　You can see tall buildings， big department stores and factories everywhere.

　　Different kinds of cars and buses are running in the big streets. But with the development of the industry， we have fewer trees. Air and water pollution is becoming more and more serious. We must do something to stop pollution and make our town even more beautiful.

　　It was Sunday, the 20th of April. We set out very early on bikes, carrying bottles of champagne, beer and bags of cakes, bacon and cooked eggs. We rode along the winding paths in the fields, across the meadows and down the willow were fresh and green. The swallows were flying to and fro, up and down the sky. The birds, like musicians,snang their melodious songs in the trees, and the butterflies,like colorful dancers, were fluttering here and there. We breathed the fresh air deeply and laughed heartily.

　　We also needed plenty of skins to make the dumplings. Some of us were making the dumpling skins, others were mixing the mince and vegetables together. All of us were enjoying the process of making dumplings and chatting with each other. Before midnight, when we heard the sound of New Year's Bell, the dumplings were ready for us to eat. 　　“開始吧！”媽媽走過來說。我沒有明白媽媽的意思，繼續(xù)背記單詞。“開始吧！”媽媽又說。我這才明白過來，原來是開始聽寫單詞了。糟了，我還有好幾個單詞不會呢，這可是要打分的呀！這還不考個“落花流水”。

　　唉！早知道這樣我就該早點起床了。

　　聽寫完畢，我看著畫著好幾個“o” 的本子，不由得又嘆了口氣：“唉！”

　　八十五分。我從沒有考過這么差的成績呀！我感到無地自容。

　　我感到考得太差了，就沖著媽媽說：“媽媽，求求你，讓我再復(fù)習(xí)一會兒，待會再考一次好嗎？”在我的再三請求下，媽媽終于答應(yīng)了我的要求。

　　我復(fù)習(xí)了二十分鐘，媽媽又叫我聽寫。這次我考了滿分。看媽媽嚴(yán)肅的神情放松了許多，我深深地吸了口氣。心想：早知今日，何必當(dāng)初啊！
