In summer, the weather is hot, so we can go swimming. I like swimming; we can play a lot of games in the water. That isn’t the most important reason; the most important reason is my birthday is in the summer, too. At that time, all my friends are on holiday, so I can have a birthday party.

記得那是三年級的一天，我們正在上課，程老師面帶笑容地走進教師，把我叫到辦公室，并高興地對我說：“你已被定為參加英語歌比賽的一名選手。”我聽后，心里就像十五個吊桶打水——七上八下，一時不知所措，不由地皺起了眉頭。
老師見我一副為難的樣子，知道了我的心思。笑著對我說：“是不是有點緊張？”我點點頭。老師又說：“其實呀，我第一次當老師也是像你這樣，但是我對自己充滿信心，再加上努力學習，充分備課，這樣一天天下來也就不緊張了，懂嗎？”我似懂非 懂地點點頭。
以后，我早早起來就背英語單詞，晚上吃好晚飯做完作業又背英語單詞，經過我的.不懈努力，終于把英語單詞背熟了。可是我的感情還不夠到位，所以又在課余時間請老師指導。
比賽那天不知不覺就到了，我和爸爸、程老師到了歙縣教育局的多媒體教室，這里可真是人山人海啊！......終于輪到我唱了。我拿著話筒，既高興又緊張，高興的是有機會站在臺前唱英語歌，為校爭光；緊張的是：畢竟是第一次唱英語歌，怕唱不好，鬧笑話。但在臺下，有爸爸給我加油，老師給我鼓勵。于是，我鼓足勇氣，唱了起來......唱完后，我用目光搜尋著爸爸和老師，他們正滿意地對我笑呢！
我想：只有自信，才能成功。
