　　應用文是人們日常生活中廣泛使用的文體。它最突出的特點是它的實際應用性，應用文包括很廣，如書信、通知、日記、海報、便條、啟事、請柬、電報、合同等。應用文的語言應使用規范語言，重在實用，力求樸實、準確、簡潔。

　　書信我們分為兩部分：信封和內容。

　　1、信封的寫法。

　　英語信封正面的`左上角，寫發信人的姓名和地址。在信封的正面中央偏左一點，寫收信人的地址和姓名。

　　英語信封上的地點名稱由小到大，視其長短可占二至五行不等。

　　寄信人只寫姓名，不寫頭銜。但是，收信人一般都在名字前加上頭銜，以示禮貌和尊敬。對于沒有官銜和學銜的人士，通常在姓名前寫上Mr., Mrs.,或Ms.。

　　信封的寫法，一般來說，很少出現在中考英語的作文中。

　　2、內容。

　　英文信一般可以分為下列幾個部分。

　　1)信端(Heading)即寫信人的地址和發信日期。

　　2)收信人姓名地址

　　3)稱呼

　　4)信的正文

　　5)結束語

　　6)簽名

　　有的時候，出題者會讓考生寫e-mail。e-mail的寫法和書信的寫法基本一致。只不過少了書信在信封上的繁瑣。
