All white save the river, that marked its course be a winding black lineacross the landscape; and the leafless tress, that against the leaden sky now　revealed more fully the wonderful beauty and intricacies of their branches. Whatsilence, too, came with the snow, and what seclusion! Every sound was muffled;every noise changed to something soft and musical. No more tramping hoofs, nmore rattling wheels! Only the chiming of sleigh-bell, beating as swift and merrilyas the hearts of children.

After that, we walked down the path and had a rest. Later, some girls danced under the trees and some boys played games happily. We didn’t go back until 4:00 p.m.. We were tired but very happy.
