　　在我的記憶中，有過許多的比賽。例如：奧數(shù)比賽、語文比賽、作文比賽。可最讓我難忘的還是那次英語演講比賽。

　　記得四年級暑假的一天，我漫步在小區(qū)里。忽然，我發(fā)現(xiàn)小區(qū)的報告亭上有一則廣告，上面說我們小區(qū)里就要舉行一場英語演講比賽，有外國人過來聽。地址：小區(qū)物業(yè)大廳內(nèi)。看完之后，我猶豫不決：我到底去不去，如果去我英文不好，如果不去機會難得。

　　這時，我想起了媽媽的一句話：“不是所有的種子都必須要長成參天大樹，但如果不努力，就不能破土而出，更不會長成參天大樹。”于是，我徑直走向了物業(yè)的大門，報了名。我回到家以后和媽媽說明了情況，媽媽二話不說，幫我到圖文店里打印了資料，我拿起了資料，如饑似渴地讀了起來，因為比賽的時候是要脫稿的`，所以我一有時間就拿出來練習(xí)。

　　比賽那天，我面帶微笑的對著一些外國人。我異常緊張，但又想：養(yǎng)兵千日用兵一時。我之前的努力不就是為了這一刻嗎？我絕對不能在這個關(guān)節(jié)點上掉鏈子。于是，我發(fā)揮超常。但是我的對手都是大人，所以我的成績一落千丈。

　　雖然這次我沒有得到名次，但是它讓我明白了一個道理：只有努力才是通向成功的捷徑。
