　　Laba is celebrated on the eighth day of the last lunar month, referring to the traditional start of celebrations for the Chinese New Year. La in Chinese means the 12th lunar month and ba means eight.

　　Legends about the origin of this festivity abound. One holds that over 3,000 years ago sacrificial rites called La were held in the twelfth lunar month when people offered their preys to the gods of heaven and earth. The Chinese characters for prey and the twelfth month were interchangeable then, and ever since La has been used to refer to both.

　　Since the festival was held on the eighth day of the Last month, people later appended the number eight , giving us the current Laba .

　　The majority Han Chinese have long followed the tradition of eating Laba rice porridge on the Laba Festival. The date usually falls in mid-January.

　　四、表達:就是用最確切明了的語言貫穿材料,表達自己的思想,力爭用符合英語語法規則。英語表達習慣,最順暢自然的詞,句,段去表達中心思想,與表現中心無關的話即使再生動形象也不要去寫。就寫作的目的表現形式來看,命題作文分為三種形式:1、記敘文類;2、說明文類; 3、議論文類。

　　記敘文就是以記敘人物的經歷或事物發展變化過程為主的一種文章。在初中寫作訓練中,記敘文是最基本,最常見,最重要的書面表達形式。記敘文有六要素即指時間,地點,人物和事件的起因,經過和結果。一篇記敘文只要把這些要素寫清楚,文章就會內容具體, 眉目清晰,中心意思明確。一般情況下,這六要素中的人物,時間,地點作為開端,要寫在文章的開頭。事件,原因常作為記敘文的段落發展,又稱為文章的主體部分,應該放在文章的中間。結果作為記敘文的結局常放在文章的末尾處。

　　Much to my joy, all my classmates agreed and were willing to help. So we worked hard together with the dustman and collected lots of rubbish. Then we parted and waved farewell to the thankful dustman. Dog-tired as I was, I felt really happy.
