　　Dear Editor,

　　I’ve learned that our English Post is being reformed and one of the three columns is to be replaced by a new one. I’m writing this e-mail to share with you my opinions.

　　Needless to say, the columns will definitely be designed according to students’ interest and have positive effects on their study and life.

　　Compared to the entertainment,I hold the view that the value of the columns concerning health and culture is more important. The main factor is that it is of great significance to keep healthy while loss of health means kissing goodbye to life. Consequently, more knowledge of how to keep fit can improve the quality of life. In addition, the progress in acquiring cultures contributes to broadening one’s horizons, which in turn is beneficial to one’s study and the establishment of philosophy of life.

　　Furthermore, the career planning should be taken into account in the school English Post . On the one hand, it covers one’s career development a great deal .On the other hand, it makes a great difference to one’s career success in the future.

　　Mood

　　everyone suffers from an occasional(偶爾的) bad mood, but i am in a bad mood more often than other people. as a result, i have developed a list of helpful hints(示意,暗示) for dealing with depression(意氣消沉,沮喪). one thing i have learned to do is keep a mood diary. about four times a day, i jot(草草記下) down a one-word des cription of my mood at that moment---- sad, tired, frustrated, happy, and so on. then i ask myself questions like “ what event preceded(優于?) this mood? have i just eaten a lot of junk(廢棄的舊物) food or drunk a lot of coffee? have i felt this way before?” after keeping this diary for a while, i have begun to see patterns(圖案) to my moods. ive found for eample that consuming(消費的`) a lot of salty foods like chips makes me feel tense. another mood-controlling hint(線索) that ive taken is to eercise every day. eercise seems to prevent depression, and it also helps me sleep better. any type of eercise works, including jogging,( 慢跑運動衣), dancing, and even walking around the block. i can also overcome depression by giving myself a small treat those times when my spirits are under the weather(under the weather不舒服)，for instance, i will go to a movie, listen to a record, or try on a new shirt. if i still feel miserable(痛苦的),i try to keep my chin up, for no bad mood lasts forever.

　　The change of the village includes many sides. First, there are more cars. Before, people like to walk and the car is too expensive for them to buy, but now, as the development of the life standard, almost everyone has a car. They keep pace with the time. Second, the building is modern and people build new homes. When I was in the village, people there live in the small house and the material is not that modern. The big house means people have more income to live a comfortable life. All the changes are good for people.

　　農村的改變包括很多方面。第一，有很多車。之前，人們喜歡走路，車子對于他們來說太貴了，買不起，但是現在，隨著生活標準的提高，幾乎每個人都有車。他們跟上了時代的步伐。第二，建筑很現代，人們建了新家。當我還在村子的時候，人們住在小房子里，房子的材料落后。大房子意味著人們有的'收入來過舒適的日子。這些變化對人們來說是好的。

　　But the other change shocks me—the environment. When I lived here, the river is clean, the water is so pure that I could see my feet under the water. There are fishes and shrimps, but now, the water is polluted, the color has been changed, fish and shrimp are no more being seen.

　　但是另外的變化令我震驚—環境。當我在這里生活的時候，河是清澈的，河水很純凈，我可以看到水中的腳。那里有魚和蝦，但是現在，河水被污染，顏色已經變了，魚和蝦看不到了。

　　The change of the village means people’s life standard has been increased, the development of economy is at the cost of the environment, we need to protect our environment.

　　Things can be much different if we change the way to treat others. Don’t be so hard on other people, life will be much easier and happier. Some parents think their kids are not good enough for not getting the high mark, actually, talent differs in many children. If adults accept their children’s imperfection, both the children and them can live the happy life.

　　如果我們改變對待他人的方式，事情就會不一樣。別對其他人那么苛刻，生活就會更容易和更快樂。一些父母認為他們的孩子做得不夠好，沒有得到高分，實際上，每個孩子的天賦都是不一樣的，如果大人能接受孩子的不完美，那么孩子和他們都能過上快樂的生活。
