English is a very important subject for Chinese students, and now they have to learn it even in the kindergarten. Some parents are willing to spend a lot of money to let their kids master English better. While the fact is that college English teachers find that most Chinese students’ English are in the low level, this problem lies in the language background. The traditional way pays attention to the grammar. Students’ ability of speaking English has been ignored, because it works nothing in getting high marks. What’s more, as they barely have the chance to speak with local people, so they can’t master English well. Today, with the development of technology, we can have access to all kinds of resources, it is very convenient to listen to the foreigners and get used to their accent. Only the lazy students refuse to learn it well.

With the gloomy prospect of returning to school, many students could suffer from post-holiday syndrome,which refers to a general feeling of depression before returning to campus life, which is caused by irregular lifestyles during the holiday.Symptoms include fatigue,lack of appetite and concentration,irritability and a feeling of helplessness.
Various reasons can account for it.But most important of all,a large number of students tend to overindulge themselves in eating,merrymaking and playing around during the holidays,which makes it difficult to adjust to their routine study schedule and life pace on the campus.
My suggestions to deal with this syndrome are as follows.First，exercising and sticking to a normal schedule over the holidays will make a difference and nip post-holiday syndrome in the bud.Besides,it pays to return a few days earlier before the semester starts.The early return seems to have kept the holiday blues at bay.

some people think we should read selectively. they argue that with the development of modern science and technology, more and more books are published every day. it is impossible for us to read all the books. what’s more, there are many bad books that are poisonous to our mind, and we shouldn’t read them. since we can’t read all the books, and we shouldn’t read bad books, we must read selectively.
but others many not agree. they emphasize that today’s society is not what it used to be. if you want to be successful, you must read widely and learn knowledge in both natural sciences and humanities. if a man knows much in one field but knows nothing in others, he may be useless. since we must have many kinds of knowledge, we must read etensively.
who’s right? there is a lot to be said for both sides of the argument. however, i think we should read etensively first and then learn deeply about the subject we are interested in.
