What are the uses of a newspaper?
The primary use of a newspaper is its informative function①. It informs the public of news. Every day, by means of newspaper, people receive the most fresh news on the world, national, and local events.
Newspapers also warns the public of dangers of happenings like storms to come, diseases which can be spread, dangerous prisoners who come out from a prison and might hurt people. Without newspapers we might face these dangers with no warning in advance.
Another use of newspapers is to instruct. They teach us how to cook a dish, tell us how to deal with money, and show us the way to start a business, and many others. A newspaper is an inexpensive②, lifelong③teacher that comes to our homes every day.
Besides, newspapers keep us pleasantly interested in things. Humorous stories, funny talks, sports and interesting articles are printed in newspapers all the year round. We can enjoy them as we like.
In the end, newspapers provide space for advertisements. Businesses can tell people about their special sales, new stores, services, and various goods by printing their advertisements in the newspapers.

In peoples lives, newspapers can let them know about the big and small things happening around them. But after reading the newspaper, people either keep it or sell it. In fourth grade, I discovered a new use for newspapers - to wipe glass.
That was a Sunday in fourth grade, and my parents and I were doing a big cleaning at home. My task is to clean the windows at home.
I took a clean cloth, soaked it in water, and then climbed up the anti-theft net by stepping on a stool in front of the window. Ill spread out the cloth first, stick it on the glass, and wipe it up one by one. However, after wiping it off, there were many water marks left on the glass, making it look fancy. What should we do about this? I racked my brain and thought it over. By the way, why didnt I think of using toilet paper to wipe? I jumped off the anti-theft net and tore off a lot of toilet paper in the living room. Rubbing on the window, the floor is really clean. But with so many toilet paper scraps left on the glass, how long will it take to wipe them clean? I threw the toilet paper onto the anti-theft net, but since I need to wipe it again, its better to make it even dirtier. I didnt stop, I grabbed the newspaper next to me and wiped it haphazardly on the window. When I took down the newspaper, the window was surprisingly clean. I quickly called for my mother, who told me, "Because there is a certain ingredient in newspapers that has the ability to remove dirt, wiping with newspapers can make it very shiny
